Stroever GmbH Co KG |
Stroever Schellack Bremen was founded 1893. Originally known as Bernhards & Stroever it was a trading company importing copals and shellac. After developing its own special processes the company decided to concentrate exclusively on the refinement of shellac. In 1961 the company moved its production facilities to Bremen and this northern German city began to gain a reputation for high quality shellac products. In 1995 the company changed its name to Stroever Schellack Bremen.
Shellac is widely used in differing branches of industry as a physiologically and ecologically safe multi-purpose alternative to synthetic resins. In addition to high quality flaked shellacs and bleached shellacs companies around the world use shellac modifications which are produced exclusively by SSB as water soluble shellacs, and shellac-acrylic polymers. The company also co-operates with customers to develop custom-made shellac products for specific applications.
